Lapacho
For a well-functioning immune system
Lapacho tea is made from the inner red bark of the Lapacho tree, native to the tropical rainforests of South and Central America. The tree can live to about 700 years and grow to a height of 20 metres. The bark has an unusually high concentration of minerals and rare micro-nutrients that are often absent in common diets. In the Inca culture, Lapacho bark was considered a miracle remedy and was referred to as the ‘tree of life’ . For over three decades, the impressive effects of the tea are being scientifically researched. In particular, immune strengthening and anti inflammatory properties are being discovered. The tea also works as an overall strengthening and revitalizing beverage. The tea contains very little tannic acid and no caffeine, which makes it very pleasant and can be taken at any given time of the day. The mild and gentle flavour is reminiscent of vanilla or caramel.
Our Lapacho tea is harvested with care and attention for the tree and the environment. The package contains 100 % pure, cut, bark tea.
Preparation: One Tbsp tea in a half litre of water, boil for about five minutes and let steep for approximately 15 minutes. Sweeten to your liking with a bit of honey. A splash of lemon juice helps in extracting the minerals from the bark. The tea can be enjoyed either hot or cold.
