The Unkuña is traditionally used as an inner cloth of the Mestana to store sacred objects such as chumpi khuyas, cocoa leaves, flowers, etc., which are used for shamanic cermonies,
The Unkuña represents the inner world, while the Mestana represents the outer world. In addition, the blanket is used for chakra treatments as well as altar cloth.
