The unroasted, hand-peeled beans come from the Forastero and Trinitario cacao varieties, grown by small farmers' cooperatives in western Uganda. With their flowery, fruity, nutty taste, they are ideal as a crunchy, energizing snack between meals. The fair-trade beans can also be used to make delicious drinking chocolates or smoothies.
