Shiitake Mushroom Extract Capsules, organic

The vital mushroom, Shiitake (bot.: Lentinula edodes), is the most widely consumed mushroom in the world, after the common white mushroom or button mushroom. In China and Japan, the shiitake mushroom has been a delicacy for over 2000 years particularly for its notably remarkable health benefits.

The citizens of the Japanese province, Kyusuyu considered this medicinal mushroom so valuable that they offered it as a gift to their Emperor Chuai. Shiitake grows wild on dead oaks, chestnut and beech trees and has been cultivated for 1000 years and is still exported to more than 40 countries to this day. In Germany, it has only recently become popularized over the last 30 years but it is a quickly growing phenomenon as shiitake cultivation increases. The shiitake stimulates the vital functions of the body and reinfoces the body's natural defence mechanisms. Shiitake boasts high levels of calcium, potassium and zinc – important elements for the proper functioning of the immune system. The mushroom also contains B vitamins, vitamin C, and vitamin D or its precursor, ergosterol. It also produces many interesting enzymes that help break down environmentally harmful chemicals and render them harmless.

Our Shiitake extract comes from controlled organic farming and is produced via controlled hot-water extraction process. Because of this process, the resulting extract contains 20–30% more mushroom poly-saccharides than the pure powder.

One capsule contains about 300mg dry extract containing: 75,3 % organic mushroom extract, 4,3% Organic Acerola extract as a natural source of Vitamin C (increasing the availability of polysaccharides) and 20,4 % capsule hull.

Recommended dose:

Twice daily 1 capsule with a glass of water before or after meals.
