Kofan Tradition
The revenues of the CD will go to Taita Querubin´s Khansi Thesi Association.
Kahansi Thesi means in the Kofan language Boa-Jaguar, a mythical snake from Kofan cosmology with the colors of the jaguar.
The Kahansi Thesi Association is founded as a fund raising organization to protect medicinal plants and the unique ancestral practices of the Kofan in their territory.
The recordings are made during ceremonies at Ukumari Khanke (Mountain of the Bear) the sacred mountain of the Kofan in Spring 2007, at the Nabi Nunhue (House of the Jaguar) maloca of Kajuyali Tsamani, and during Taita Querubi´s last visit to Amsterdam in November 2006.
Inside the CD you will find extra flyers to hand out to your friends. In this way we hope to attract more support for the campaign.
